BT93

BT93 is a biological indicator strip designed to control and validate hydrogen peroxide sterilization processes (such as VHP, VH₂O₂, or plasma sterilizers).
It contains highly resistant spores of Geobacillus stearothermophilus (1 × 10⁶ CFU) applied to a paper carrier, ensuring accurate performance monitoring of low-temperature sterilization systems.

INSTRUTIONS OF USE

  1. Place one BT93 strip in the most challenging location of the load (e.g. inside packaging, trays, or hardest-to-reach areas).
  2. Run the complete hydrogen peroxide sterilization cycle as per your validated program.
  3. After the cycle, under aseptic conditions, transfer the strip into a sterile culture medium (e.g. Terragene Tryptic Soy Broth or Bionova Medium).
  4. Incubate at 56–60 °C for up to 7 days or follow your laboratory validation protocol.
  5. Examine the medium daily:
    • No growth (no color/turbidity) → Sterilization successful.
    • Growth (turbidity or color change) → Sterilization failed.

PRECAUTIONS OF USE

  • Store between 15–30 °C in a dry environment, away from chemical sterilants.
  • Do not expose to sterilizing agents or moisture prior to use.
  • Handle aseptically after the sterilization cycle.
  • Use before the expiration date.
  • Dispose of used strips according to biohazard waste regulations.
