BIODET plus  5 Enzymatic detergent for surgical instruments and endoscopes

• • • Dilute BIODET PLUS in running water at a dilution up to 0.2%-0,4%.
    • Open all instruments with joints.
    • Immerse them into the solution.
    • Be sure they are fully covered and leave them soak for at least 5minutes.
    • Rinse your instruments with running water.
    • Dry thoroughly with a clean cloth.
    • Your instruments are ready for sterilization.
    • Change the solution every 48 hours or when it becomes dirty.
    • Do not mix with other disinfectants.

Ultrasonic bath

• • • BIODET PLUS can be used in all ultrasonic baths. In ultrasonic bath, it can be used up to 0.2%- 0,4% dilution.

Endoscope cleaning

• • • Cleaning is the critical step in endoscopes reprocessing.
    • Endoscope cleaning consists of the mechanical cleaning of internal and external surfaces.
    • This includes brushing and bushing of internal channels with sterile, filtered or drinking quality water and detergent.
    • The purpose of cleaning is to remove all inorganic and organic material from the internal and external surfaces of flexible endoscopes.If the manual cleaning, brushing and rinsing steps are not properly carried out, protein debris can harden and lead to formation of biofilm on the biopsy channel of the endoscope.Inadequate cleaning can thus result in material remaining on the endoscope surfaces which prevents disinfection and sterilization fluids or gases reaching all parts of potentially contaminated surfaces.The endoscope should be cleaned with an enzymatic detergent immediately after use and before manual or automated disinfection.

BIODET PLUS contains a combination of five enzymes,The enzymes break down the soil into tiny fragments, making it water soluble and thus easier to remove by rinsing.

What is the recommendation for using and changing the cleaning solution in ultrasonic instrument equipment?

• For most effective ultrasonic cleaning action, ensure that the tank is not over-filled with instruments and that the detergent solution completely covers all items.
• The common use of “pony tail holders” or other type of elastics to hold instruments together is convenient but will inhibit cleaning action.
• The frequency for changing cleaning solutions is generally based on several factors: amount and type of soils on the instruments; type of instrument and procedure; and protocols based on staffing at the facility or clinic.

A) Cleaning solutions should always at a minimum be drained and changed daily.
      The tank should be rinsed, cleaned and wiped out when solutions are changed.
B) For heavier soils including blood and inorganic lab materials, change the cleaning solution for each load of items.
C) Change the cleaning solution if it becomes cloudy or is odorous.
D) For larger facilities it is recommended to change the cleaning solution at the beginning of each shift change.
