BT24 is a self-contained biological indicator used for monitoring steam sterilization processes of porous loads and solid instruments such as surgical tools, textiles, and metal equipment.
It contains highly resistant spores of Geobacillus stearothermophilus (ATCC 7953), designed to verify the effectiveness of steam sterilization cycles operating between 121 °C and 134 °C.

INSTRUTIONS OF USE

  1. Allow the indicator to reach room temperature before use.
  2. Place the BT24 indicator inside the load, preferably in the most challenging area for steam penetration (e.g., center of wrapped packs or trays).
  3. Run the steam sterilization cycle as per standard procedure.
  4. After sterilization, let the load cool for at least 10 minutes before removing the indicator.
  5. Activate the ampoule by crushing it to mix the spore carrier with the culture medium.
  6. Incubate the indicator at 55–62 °C for up to 48 hours.
  7. Interpret results:
    • Purple colour remains → Sterilization successful.
    • Colour changes to yellow → Sterilization failure.
  8. Record and compare with positive control results.

COMPOSITION

  • Glass ampoule containing nutrient medium with pH indicator (purple).
  • Spore carrier inoculated with Geobacillus stearothermophilus spores (10⁴–10⁶ spores per unit).
  • Polypropylene crush sleeve for safe activation.
  • External label with identification details.

PRECAUTIONS OF USE

  • For steam sterilization only — do not use for ethylene oxide, plasma, or dry heat.
  • Store at 2–8 °C in a dry environment away from sunlight.
  • Handle carefully; ampoule is made of glass.
  • Use gloves and protective eyewear when removing or activating ampoules.
  • A chemical indicator (if present) only confirms exposure, not sterilization success.
  • Dispose of used or positive ampoules as biohazard waste according to local regulations.

A high alkaline detergent for use in washer disinfectors for the removal of heavy surgical soils from medical devices. Suitable for use on alkali resistant surfaces such as stainless steel, ceramics, glass and resistant plastics.

INSTRUTIONS OF USE

– Dosing range 3-8 ml/lt.
– Cleaning temperature normal.
– Ensure complete rinsing after use.
– Do not mix with other chemicals.

PRECAUTIONS OF USE

1. Handling & Storage

  • FLAMMABLE LIQUID: Keep away from heat/sparks/open flames (flash point: 65°C).

  • VENTILATION: Use in well-ventilated areas; vapor buildup can cause explosive mixtures.

  • STORAGE: Store in cool, dry place; tightly seal containers. Keep away from oxidizers/acids.

  • CONTAINERS: Do not reuse empty containers (hazardous residues remain).

2. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

3. Critical Hazards

  • EYE CONTACT: Causes severe irritation/blindness (flush with water for ≥15 mins; seek medical help).

  • SKIN CONTACT: May cause irritation; wash immediately with soap/water. Remove contaminated clothing.

  • INGESTION: Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical attention immediately.

  • INHALATION: Move to fresh air; seek medical help if symptoms persist (dizziness, nausea).

4. Spill & Fire Response

  • SPILLS: Eliminate ignition sources! Contain with inert absorbent. Avoid runoff into drains.

  • FIRE: Use water spray, CO₂, or dry chemical extinguishers. Never use water jets (spreads fire).

  • TOXIC FUMES: Firefighters must use self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).

5. Environmental & Disposal

  • DO NOT CONTAMINATE WATER SOURCES. Toxic to aquatic life in high concentrations.

  • DISPOSAL: Dispose via licensed waste contractors. Follow local regulations.
