CD40

CD40 is a chemical indicator strip designed for steam sterilization process control.
It is a Class 4 (multi-variable) indicator according to ISO 11140-1, which reacts to two or more critical parameters of the sterilization process—time, temperature, and steam saturation—to verify that the correct conditions have been achieved inside the autoclave.

INSTRUTIONS OF USE

  1. Place one CD40 indicator strip inside every pack, tray, or load to be sterilized.
  2. Run the sterilization cycle under your standard validated parameters (typically 121°C for 15 min or 134°C for 3.5 min).
  3. After the cycle is complete, observe the color change on the indicator:
    • Uniform color change (e.g. from light blue to dark brown/black) → Sterilization parameters achieved.
    • Incomplete or patchy color change → Sterilization not achieved.

Keep the used indicator as part of your sterilization record for traceability.

PRECAUTIONS OF USE

  • Dispose of after each sterilization cycle according to facility waste procedures.
