1. Pre-operative surgical hand disinfection:
-
Wet the hands and forearms.
-
Wash with 5 ml of SKIN GUARD, each step consisting of five strokes back and forth.
2. Antiseptic handwash on the ward:
-
Wet the hands and forearms.
-
Apply 5 ml of SKIN GUARD and wash for 1 minute.

Rinse thoroughly and dry.
3. Pre-operative skin antisepsis for the patient:
-
The patient should wash their whole body using 25 ml of SKIN GUARD.

Performed on at least two occasions — usually the day before and the day of the operation.
4. For patients confined to bed:
-
Use SKIN GUARD with a standard bed-bath technique.

On hospital wards

In isolation departments

In treatment and outpatient rooms

During surgical preparation (hand scrubbing and skin antisepsis)
