Usage

Steam Chemical Indicator Type 6

  • The steam chemical indicator is designed to evaluate parameters of the sterilization process on the location and to give instant read-out.
  • AXIS Steam Chemical Indicators are in compliance with EN-ISO 11140-1:2014.
  • Can be used in all steam sterilizers as an internal pack monitor.
  • Indicators are manufactured as Type 6.
  • Works between 121°C /// 15min, 134°C 3.5min.
  • Since the optimum sterilization cycle has been attained, the indicator turns to reference color and the indicator preserves its final color at least 6 months.

Once the cycle is over, the user must Analyse the results

The contents of each pack must be exposed to several critical parameters of the sterilization process.
These critical parameters for Steam are:

    • Saturated Steam
    • Time
    • Temperature
  • If the ink has changed into another color (as specified), the items have been processed correctly.
  • Alternatively, any different colors (as specified) indicate a failure in the sterilization cycle.

Applicable Regulation

Designed under Quality Management System standards ISO 13485:2016/NS-EN ISO 13485:2016.
ISO 11140-1:2014.

Storage conditions

T = 10-30 ºC, RH = 30-80 %, keep out of direct light.

Precautions

  • Do not store the product near sterilizing agents.
  • Do not expose this product to EO, Dry Heat or any sterilization processes other than Steam.
  • Do not reuse the sterilizer until the indicator has changed into the color indicated in the product.
